For several days, many citizens have reported to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli the presence of an enormous quantity of rubbish of all kinds dumped on street corners in the Maddalena area, behind Piazza Garibaldi.
This morning, Saturday 16 September, Asia carried out an extraordinary waste removal operation also with the aid of bulldozers and mechanical shovels.
“I wonder how it is possible to end up in this state, every time. I wonder why we wait until entire stretches of road are covered in garbage before intervening. I wonder why we have to put public health at risk before cleaning the streets.
Seeing tourists walking around with suitcases among the rubbish is unacceptable.

What should be the first reception point for tourists arriving by train becomes a shameful spectacle that damages our city. I turn to Asia asking for maximum attention, especially in strategic places in Naples, in addition to intensifying controls by the Municipal Police against traders and citizens who dump everything at any time.
Installing surveillance cameras is the only useful deterrent to stop uncivilized people, in this way it will be possible to identify them and fine them, but at the same time all services must be provided, such as bins for recycling and punctual collection, so that such accumulations do not occur again. Finally, in these areas extraordinary sanitation must be planned because it is not enough to remove the garbage from the ground, we must guarantee the healthiness of the streets".
These are the words of Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of the Green Left Alliance, who witnessed the extraordinary cleaning operations of La Maddalena carried out by Asia.
