This morning, in Naples, following an investigative activity directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, the Carabinieri of the Qualiano Station executed the Order for the application of precautionary custody under house arrest, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples North in Aversa, against MA, a 62-year-old from the Spanish Quarters of Naples.
The man is seriously suspected, in conjunction with other individuals who are being identified, of three episodes of aggravated fraud, two of which to the detriment of the elderly, which occurred in Qualiano and Lusciano in the months of January and March.
In particular, the victims were contacted by telephone by other individuals who, pretending to be relatives (children/grandchildren), induced them to deliver money and jewellery to one of their agents for the delivery of a package.
The investigations, conducted by the military of the Qualiano Station and the Lusciano Station and directed by the Prosecutor's Office, have allowed - through the analysis of the video surveillance systems present in the areas of the criminal events and with the fundamental contribution of the victims in the description of the person responsible - to identify the 62-year-old as the individual who had shown up at their homes and to whom they had delivered money and jewelry.
The man is at his home, under house arrest, awaiting his appearance before the investigating judge.
