It is called Air Campania Spa and is the regional public transport company born from the merger between Air Spa and Air Campania Srl, which has the Campania Region as its sole shareholder and a share capital of over 30,5 million euros.

With the signing of the deed, the reverse merger process was completed, with the incorporation of the parent company by the subsidiary, which began last April with the resolution of the board of directors, approved by the Regional Council, regarding the corporate reorganization.

“With the merger – explains the administrator Anthony Acconcia – we are strengthening ourselves in terms of capital. A better economic solidity allows for greater growth and competitiveness. From today we are one of the most important players in Tpl and we will try to consolidate ourselves by also participating in tenders outside the region.

The single company also guarantees more streamlined decision-making processes due to the reduction of the chain of command and greater efficiency on the economic level. With the merger, a virtuous path desired by the Campania Region is completed, which would not have been possible without the directions of Governor De Luca and the support of the President of the Transport Commission, Luca Cascone, to whom I extend my thanks”.

Air Campania, which has a human capital of about 1.200 employees, manages local public transport by road, ensuring services in the provinces of Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, Naples and Salerno, connections with Campobasso, Foggia, Isernia and is waiting for the new authorization from the MIT to resume runs to Rome. Furthermore, it manages the Montevergine funicular system.

It travels 30 million kilometers a year and records a total of 16 million passengers. The company, owner of the Avellino and Grottaminarda bus stations, has a fleet of 700 buses, which, Air assures, will be “further rejuvenated, starting from mid-September, with the arrival of 200 new low-emission buses”.
