Naples: Sorrentino's Costume Designer Dies in Capri, Here's Who He Was

Luca Canfora was the name of the man found lifeless last September 1st in the waters of Capri. Fifty-one years old, Canfora was a costume designer and was part of the crew of the latest film by the Oscar-winning director Paulo Sorrentino.

He had already worked with Sorrentino in the past, among the productions that saw him engaged there was also the TV series The Young Pope. A graduate of the Filippo Palizzi Art Institute, Canfora had begun his career in the tailoring department of the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.

He was assistant to costume designers such as Oscar winner Milena Canonero, in The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson, Carlo Poggioli (for Cold Mountain by Anthony Minghella) and for Sorrentino's films such as Youth and Loro and Daniela Ciancio, in The Great Beauty. The autopsy will clarify the causes of death. The police have already interviewed people who knew him.
