The 13th edition of the International Hot Air Balloon Meeting is underway and will be held in Paestum, in the province of Salerno, from September 30 to October 8, 2023.
An extraordinary event that takes place near the archaeological area of the Temples, a UNESCO heritage site, known throughout the world for their beauty where the appointment, unmissable for flight enthusiasts and not only, sees every year a gathering of hot air balloons that rise, very colorful, above the Temples of Paestum.
The event has established itself among the five most evocative international hot air balloon festivals in the world precisely because of the extraordinary view that can be enjoyed from above the archaeological area, with the pine forest and the sea in the background.
The event, organized by the Vivere Paestum association, attracts thousands of visitors every year, many of whom are foreigners, with a constantly growing trend: in the past editions, which have seen balloons from Italy and many foreign countries, over 30 thousand visitors have been registered, with illustrious figures in the sector and national and international flight champions.
The Festival Village, where both free and tethered flights take place, also features children's entertainment, street artist performances, educational workshops for schools, exhibition areas for local products and crafts, and days dedicated to exploring the area.
