There was fear this afternoon in Giugliano. At around 16:12 PM today, Tuesday, September XNUMX, the roof of the former “Moderno” cinema collapsed, causing a loud noise that frightened residents in the area. This structure, which has been unused for years, borders the building that housed the municipal police headquarters and has been declared unfit for use by the fire department.
Already in July, there were several reports on social media about the structure, which had numerous holes and a wooden part that had already collapsed. Today, the center of the roof also collapsed. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

There is also a council resolution that includes a renovation project of the hall in the programs financed by the Campania region, for a value of 430.000 euros. The goal, as stated in the resolution, is to use the former cinema as a space for cultural, social and entertainment activities.
