Writer Marco Amore, active in the field of contemporary art both in Italy and abroad, returns to bookstores with L'Ora del Mondo (Samuele Editore, Scilla Collection).

As we read in the preface by economist and historian of economic thought Luigino Bruni, “when we say poetry, economics is not the first word that comes to mind. We do not associate poets with profit, tax returns, minibonds, ISEE. Perhaps out of a natural instinct for protection, we want to keep them away from the 'dismal science', so as not to sadden them. Then we read this book and we realize that we were wrong, that we were wrong to consider economic life as alien to poetry. We were wrong because we did not understand that economics was nothing other than life, and therefore worthy of poetry as is all life…

The economy has moved away from the territory of the good human – continues Bruni. The oikos to become nomos has lost the kalos. We have lost it also because the poets have not seen the economy, they have not told us about it”.

This is exactly what Marco Amore, in clear contrast, wishes to do with courage and in-depth research through the pages of L'Ora del Mondo.

“The underlying message is about people: the reason for their choices as opposed to the gray formalism of economic and financial theories. I wanted to show the emotions, the sadness and the sense of daily alienation.” – declared the poet from Benevento.

Marco Amore had already made a lot of noise with the release of Farràgine in 2019 (Samuele Editore, Collana Scilla, preface by Giovanna Frene), a finalist at the XXXI edition of the Premio Camaiore Proposta – opera Prima, translated into Spanish and currently being translated for a forthcoming publication in English. It was precisely in that period that he approached the sector of subsidized finance, a challenge that still sees him engaged as a designer at an integrated consultancy firm for businesses and, as a writer, with the aim of restoring a 'new humanity' to the economy that has progressively become only techné.
