The 2023/24 "Caldera Teatrale" Season at the Teatro Serra in Naples has been officially presented. The program features fourteen shows, spanning fourteen weekends from October to May (Friday at 21:00 PM, Saturday at 19:00 PM, and Sunday at 18:00 PM). The focus is on the emerging national contemporary scene, featuring young and established actors, playwrights, dancers, and musicians. "It was very difficult to choose from the many highly interesting and high-quality proposals we received. The result is a rich program of world premieres and experimental projects that reflect on contemporaneity through a variety of media: experimentation, revisiting classics, music, and dance," say the founders and promoters of the space, actor, trainer, and acting coach Pietro Tammaro and director and playwright Mauro Palumbo. Together with Mario Cangiano and Joao Santos, they will open the season on Friday, October 20 (and until Sunday, October 23) with the comedy "Non era goal," the story of two passionate Napoli fans who, after their defeat in the Champions League final, decide to kidnap the referee. An extreme act, which gives rise to a hilarious series of bizarre situations that humorously address themes such as friendship, human relationships, and faith. Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 November, the first of the two musical events of the season with: "Pink Floyd Experience", a study on one of the most visionary rock bands of all time, curated by the group The Endless Machine. From 10 to 12 November, the actress Roberta Frascati debuts with "BAR", the story of a bartender and her inner journey that leads her to emancipation from the legacies of the past and to her own fulfillment. Directed by Francescoantonio Nappi and Riccardo Pisani, the latter also author of “With the light in my eyes” starring Marco Aspide and dedicated to the pibe de oro Diego Armando Maradona, symbol of revenge, identity and belonging for millions of people in the world, in scene from November 24th to 26th.

In December, from the 15th to the 17th, "The Very Strange Couple" by Diego Ruiz puts the spotlight on the lives of men and women left alone, divided between the desire to rebuild their love life and the fear of Cupid's poisoned arrows. An extraordinarily successful comedy, with Noemi Giangrande and Diego Consiglio who also directs it, which has already entertained thousands of spectators throughout Italy.

The Epiphany weekend - from 5 to 7 January - inaugurates the new year by putting the spotlight on the man and God of "Whoever you are, answer, please answer", a documentary work, based on the testimonies of Guantanamo prisoners , edited by Antonio Mocciola and Diego Galdi with Daniele Arfè and Valeria Esposito, directed by Gianluca Bosco.

February offers us a return to the ancient with "MEDEYA", the tragedy of Euripides which places us face to face with the perennial struggle between evil and good, human and Divine, magic and reason. Directed by Stefania Ventura, on stage with Giulia Piscitelli and Francesco Gentile from 2 to 4 February, while from 23 to 25 "Masterpiece" written and directed by Gennaro Esposito, with Enrico Disegno, will tell us a story of success and easy money in the era of social media, with an eye on real life, behind the camera.

From 8 to 10 March, the spotlight will be on “Raccontami Shakespeare” by Andrea Cioffi and Sara Guardascione freely based on “Racconti da Shakespeare / Tales from Shakespeare” by Charles and Mary Lamb, to rediscover two modern and fascinating historical characters who actually existed, whose social and artistic battles are still current and necessary.

Spring will welcome the winners of the 2023 and 2022 editions of the "InCorti da Artemia–National Short Theatre Festival" competition, promoted by the Artemia association of Rome, twinned with the Phlegraean Fields. It begins on March 15, 16, and 17 with "C19H28O2 (Or How to Have Balls)" by the Lidi Precari company, made up of former students of the "Silvio D'Amico" Academy Leonardo Cesaroni, Riccardo Rampazzo, Paolo Sangiorgio, and Sara Younes. This work, provocatively titled "the testosterone formula," addresses gender issues—social norms, imposed education, etc.—with a smile. – and continues on March 5, 6, and 7 with the show "Edison vs. Tesla" (Best Director and Daniele Mattera Award at the 19th Corti della Formica Festival in Naples, the longest-running national festival of short plays), the story of a conflict between two giants of science to whom we owe almost all of our technology. Written and starring Pier Paolo Palma, the show is directed by Georgia de' Conno and Eugenio Delli Veneri. The brilliant "Una coppia tre rotture" by Remi De Vos, a Teatro Serra production starring Pietro Tammaro and Giulia Piscitelli, and directed by Mauro Palumbo, closes the month of April from April 21 to April XNUMX.

The season ends in time with music with the singer-songwriter Giacomo Casaula who on Saturday 4 May will present a preview of the concert of songs, poems and ballads (also unpublished) entitled "LOVE" and a double dance event scheduled from 15 to 19 May : the solo “Deviazione della rondine” by the dancer and choreographer Fabrizio Varriale and the ballet “Perhaps yes, perhaps no” by and with Sabrina D'Aguanno and Sonia Di Gennaro.

The first event of the year, however, remains the final of the “Serra-Campi Flegrei” National Award for theatrical vocation in the art of monologue scheduled for Monday 2 October at 20pm. Eight finalists in the actresses/actors, authors/authors, directors/directors sections who will be evaluated by the Honorary Jury made up of authoritative names from the theatre, culture and information fields.
