Since the early hours of this morning, the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza have carried out a large-scale operation, with “High Impact” mode, in the Montecalvario neighborhood, specifically in the “Spanish Quarters” area, where dozens of searches were carried out.
As part of the aforementioned activity, a person of Gambian origin was stopped because he was the recipient of an order for the application of the precautionary custody measure in prison because he was seriously suspected of the crime of stalking; two people were arrested in flagrante delicto, one for resisting a Public Official and possession for the purpose of drug trafficking, while the other, for possession of false identification documents, and 6 people were reported.
Furthermore, a pair of false documents hidden in an electrical junction box, a Taurus 22 cal pistol, numerous cartridges, two precision scales, eight bladed weapons, including 6 knives, a “katana” and a telescopic truncheon, 89550 euros divided into banknotes of various denominations, three watches of a well-known brand, approximately 135 grams of hashish, 95 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of marijuana were seized.
Again, in an apartment a camera connected to a DVR system (video surveillance system) was found to film the outside of the building, presumably placed to evade possible police checks.
Administrative checks were also carried out to verify compliance with the Highway Code. In particular, 112 people were identified, 40 of whom had a police record, 77 vehicles were checked and 20 others were removed because they did not have insurance coverage.
Over three hundred operators from different police forces and offices were employed for this activity, including the Naples Flying Squad, the Montecalvario Police Station, soldiers from various companies of the Naples Provincial Carabinieri Command, the Investigative Unit, Operational Intervention Teams of the 10th Campania Regiment, Rapid Response Units of the Naples Group Command, motorcyclists from the Naples Radiomobile Unit, the Rapid Response Group Naples, the Giugliano in Campania Group and the Torre Annunziata Group of the Guardia di Finanza, with the contribution of the Interregional Cabinet of the Scientific Police, the Crime Prevention Unit, the Flight Unit, the Canine Unit, the Mobile Unit, and the First Response Operational Units.
