The occupants of the SUV that caused panic on the Naples ring road while reversing at 11 yesterday morning have been identified and stopped.
Their justification is rather bizarre: “We were almost out of gas and we didn’t know if we would find a gas station ahead, so we decided to go back four kilometers to the nearest gas station.”
The accident was filmed by a passing motorcyclist, who recorded the images and then shared them on the social networks of the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli. In the meantime, the video surveillance system of the Ring Road immediately detected the danger.
The car was in the lane towards Pozzuoli, near the entrance from Corso Malta, when it began the dangerous reverse. The emergency procedure - as reported by Il Mattino - was activated quickly and six minutes after the report, a van from the traffic service reached the vehicle.
When the emergency personnel of Tangenziale Spa approached the car, they found three people inside, all of Romanian nationality. They appeared confused and explained that they were almost out of fuel and wanted to reach the nearest service station, which was behind them.
