On Sunday 24 September at 17.00:22 pm, Spazio Marcovaldo, as part of the Naples book fair, Ricomincio dai libri (from 24 to XNUMX September Archivio di Stato), will host the presentation of the book “Non pretendo che qualcuno mi creda” (Cento Autori editions) by Mexican author Juan Pablo Villalobos.

Synopsis
A Mexican student, Juan Pablo Villalobos, goes to Barcelona accompanied by his girlfriend to complete his doctorate in literature. Shortly before leaving, he finds himself involved in a monumental mess due to his cousin, an aspiring con artist.
The text is enriched by a complex fauna of characters. In this exuberant, foul-mouthed and intellectual novel the characters - and narrators - do nothing but repeat "I do not expect anyone to believe me", as if to reiterate that it is life itself sometimes, that mixes reality and illusion, comedy and tragedy. Juan Pablo Villalobos has found his own tone, capable of showing the absurd in the most complex topics such as immigration, corruption, family loyalty and love.
“I Don't Expect Anyone to Believe Me” was made into a film entitled “I Don't Expect Anyone to Believe Me” which will be released on the international platform Netflix soon.
