After experimenting with naturalness and elegance with different genres and sounds that allowed him to make an impact on the hearts of the public and to be recognized by critics as one of the most charismatic and versatile talents of contemporary singer-songwriter music, Ruggero Ricci returns to the radio and digital stores with “China Town” (Orangle Records/Ingrooves/Universal Music Italia), his new single that gives us a delicate, yet vibrant, taste of the coming season, while maintaining the energy and identity of one of the most magnetic artists of the new Italian pop scene.

Produced by the unmistakable touch of Max Giorgetti (already for Random and MamboLosco) and presented as an absolute preview at the final of “Una Voce per l'Europa” at the Arena Francesca da Rimini – an event where Ricci was an honorary guest – the song is an up tempo with a summery aftertaste, almost melancholic, which draws on the electronics of the 80s, blending past, present and future in a mix of lyrics and rhythm that fascinates and captures the senses from the first listen.

But it's not just the captivating and meticulously crafted sounds that make "China Town" an enthralling experience that goes far beyond the concept of a song: it's Ruggero Ricci's ability to constantly reinvent himself, to challenge musical boundaries and to always give us new food for thought through an incredible mix of sensitivity, passion and dynamism that makes it the perfect soundtrack to the passing of the seasons, of the year, and of life.

“I will design my life in another world to exist, to resist”, words that embrace the soul and echo in the heart, inviting the mind to reflect on the importance of priorities in the modern world and giving the courage to decide – “if I can't feel emotions, then bon voyage” -, to become protagonists of your own path and look forward, beyond the senseless need to please everyone by giving up on yourself – “I want to feel better, I want to be myself” –.

“Every now and then I feel the need to dedicate something to myself – declares the artist -, to give myself strength through songs: this one in particular, is an examination of conscience on how much importance we give to appearances and trivial things, wasting precious time in our daily lives, day after day”.

A powerful message, a sincere snapshot of the present time, which reminds us not only of the importance of remaining true to ourselves and our principles, but also and above all that the future of Generation Z depends on the decisions we adults make today, both in the virtual world and in the real one.

“We should remind ourselves more often that we are our first choice – concludes Ricci – and that the future of Generation Z depends on the decisions we make inside and outside of virtual life. I'm going through a particularly creative period, after a summer full of live performances and meetings. I have a lot to say through my songs, I believe it is essential to experiment with full knowledge of the facts and for this reason, I always try to offer new food for thought, as I firmly believe in the value of lyrics”.

“China Town” is accompanied by the official video clip, which premiered nationally on Sky TG24 and will be available on YouTube at the end of the month, opens with the suggestive view of the iconic Ferris wheel of Rimini, introducing us to the true essence of the piece. Through the lively mix of electronic music with 80s references, the song captures the vitality and energy of youth, bringing to the fore the challenges and hopes of Generation Z. The video, a small visual masterpiece directed and shot by Francesca Gallina, has its roots in Emilia-Romagna, thus paying homage to the artist's origins and giving an atmosphere halfway between melancholy and hope.

Another jewel in the crown of the discography of the vocal coach and singer-songwriter from Lugo, who with his dedication to words and authentic musicality confirms himself as one of the most dynamic and incisive talents of the national pop scene; a truthfulness that resonates in the heart of "China Town", making it a hymn to individuality, to the choice to be one's own priority and to the responsibility of the decisions made every day. Ruggero Ricci thus becomes a guide, the voice of a generation that wishes to define its own destiny, not only online, but also and above all in real life, the one in which connections are the fruit of empathy, feelings and solidarity.
