An earthquake of magnitude 2.3 occurred at 2.23 am in the Vesuvius area, in the province of Naples.
The epicenter was located by the Vesuvius Observatory, the Neapolitan headquarters of the INGV, in the crater area falling within the municipal territory of Trecase, with geographic coordinates (lat, lon) 40.8190, 14.4270 at a depth of 0 km.
The shock was felt by some residents of the area. No damage to people or things was reported.
