Collaboration agreement signed for 'training, education, research and experimentation activities in the field of drone use and its applications'.
The University of Naples Parthenope and the Air Force Academy continue the collaboration path already started years ago, signing an agreement for 'training, training, research and experimentation activities in the field of drone use and its applications'.
The agreement was signed by the Rector, Prof. Antonio Garofalo, accompanied by the Vice-Rector, Prof. Enrico Marchetti and Prof. Massimiliano Lega and the Air Division General Luigi Casali, accompanied by Col. AArnn Andrea Placenti – Director of Studies and Col. AAran Marco Attanasio – Head of the Department of Relations with the University.
'With today's signature, we consolidate a collaboration that has been ongoing for some time in the drone sector – underlined General Casali – and that has already brought significant results. In a constantly changing context, these training and education activities are particularly important'.
'We hope that this agreement is only the first step in a collaboration that could extend to many other fields – added Rector Antonio Garofalo – in the spirit of collaboration and complementarity with the other universities in Campania'.
Today's signature comes after a long and complex journey that began thanks to the joint work between the Academy and the 'Integrated Laboratory of Advanced Environmental Monitoring and Forensic Environmental Engineering' directed by Prof. Lega and affiliated with the Department of Engineering, which has led to significant results in environmental monitoring activities in the so-called 'Land of Fires'.
A framework agreement whose first objective is to increase the know-how of the institute's students in the field of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems based on data collected by satellites, manned and remotely piloted aircraft, also aimed at domains of civil interest such as, for example, environmental protection and civil defence.
