'SIRENES the daughters of the Dragon', tomorrow in Atrani a unique show in Italy

A unique show in Italy where professional mermaids will perform directly in the sea.

Atrani once again hosts “Meraviglie – I sentieri dei sensi”, the event that benefits from the artistic direction of Alfonso Cavaliere and that was financed by the Campania Region as part of the project “Campania. Divina”.

Tomorrow (September 9), at 21,30:XNUMX pm, “SIRENES le figlie del Dragone” will be performed, the first show with a synchronized swimming team coordinated by the National coach Roberta Farinelli. The initiative will feature the participation of the American Hannah Mermaid and twenty mermaids from all over the world.

“SIRENES le figlie del Dragone” is a show conceived and directed by Alessandro D'Auria and produced by the cultural association KORAKORA. The special guest of the second edition is the American Hannah Mermaid, the first professional freelance mermaid in the world, protagonist of the Oscar-winning film “The Cove” and the Netflix series “Merpeople”. The show represents a dreamlike journey steeped in the myths and legends of Italy and Campania. It tells the story of the daughters of the Dragon, who synthesize in their essence elements such as earth and sea, fire and water.

"My goal – explained director D'Auria – is to create extraordinary experiences for the audience and Sirenes succeeds because it opens the doors to a magical world where mermaids are real beings”.

Not only mermaids will be on stage, but also sea nymphs, played by synchronized swimming athletes. The show will be accompanied by fireworks at sea, a metaphor for the strength of the dragon that releases its flames into the water. The initiative will start with the Doges with the parade of the Dragon (created by Alessio Moscariello) that will be accompanied through the streets of Atrani by fire performances. The passage will be accompanied by the drums of the flag-wavers of the Città Regia of Cava de' Tirreni.

Once on the beach, the fire performance directed by Angela Boccia will turn the spotlight on the show offered in the sea by twenty mermaids from Australia, England, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, France and Belgium, led by Hannah Mermaid, and on the performance of the synchronized swimming team directed by Roberta Farinelli and Letizia Nuzzo. The artists' bodies will be transformed by the extraordinary hands of Veronica Bottigliero, a professional bodypainter.

The date chosen for the show is September 9th to remember the flood that in 2010, on this very day, submerged Atrani and caused the death of the young Francesca Mansi, to whom the show is dedicated.
