Fear gripped much of Tuscany and Emilia overnight following a magnitude 4.9 earthquake that also shook Florence, sending many people into the streets both in the capital and in smaller towns.
The main event occurred at 5.10:8,4 a.m., with its epicenter located in Marradi at a depth of 4.48 km. It was preceded by a much less intense initial shock at 3.3:XNUMX a.m. (magnitude XNUMX). Following the main shock, a seismic swarm is still ongoing, which has so far produced at least eight more tremors, less powerful than the two main ones, with the epicenter this time shifted toward Tredozio, in the province of Forlì-Cesena.
