Croatian Fans Display Fascist Flag at Stadium, UEFA Opens Investigation

La Uefa announced that it has opened a disciplinary procedure against Croatia after the fans put up a fascist flag referring to the Second World War during a recent group stage match of qualifying for Euro 2024.

The Croatian FA says fans raised an Ustasha regime flag during the team's 5-0 victory over Latvia on Friday.

Croatia is already under trial by UEFA for "discriminatory behaviour" by fans during the final of the Nations League on June.

The federation was unable to sell tickets to fans for the team's 1-0 victory in Armenia on Monday. UEFA's latest investigation could see Croatia forced to play in an empty stadium when they host Turkey next month.
