The idea of bringing Tracce di Memoria to the center of Naples means allowing those who live with dementia to be seen not as carriers of a disease but as people who make art in a place of art. Being able to exhibit in a space in the city designated for the preparation of art exhibitions means giving dignity and meaning to a deep and demanding work in which people, who live numerous difficulties brought on by their diagnosis, get involved and rediscover themselves capable of doing and communicating in a new way. The Alzheimer Café – the Center is a TAM project that supports families in the management and rehabilitation of their loved ones with dementia, taking into account the fact that this disease involves the entire family unit. The “Tracce di memoria” exhibition narrates the journey of thirteen people with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia involved in the psychosocial therapies of the Alzheimer Café. The art laboratory is one of the rehabilitation activities offered and allows everyone to express themselves in a unique way, creating an opportunity for socialization and artistic expression. On September 21, 2023, at the Sala PAN of the Palazzo delle Arti in Naples, there will be a debate on dementia promoted by Municipality 1 of the City of Naples together with TAM ODV, in which experts in the field will speak (to be defined). The latest scientific research on Alzheimer's will be presented and psychosocial intervention strategies to improve the well-being of people with dementia and their families will be discussed.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from 20 to 24 September 2023 from 9:30 to 19:30. For further information, you can contact the TAM secretariat at +39 342 844 0749 or send an email to info@tieniamente.it.
