Yesterday afternoon, the 34-year-old, who is on vacation, had decided to go on a hike to the slopes of the highest mountain on the island, but while climbing a path, she slipped into a canal and was unable to return to the valley.
The woman, disoriented and frightened, then contacted the Carabinieri who, in order to locate her, asked her to share her position via her cell phone; in addition to the military, technicians from the local Campania Alpine and Speleological Rescue team were activated for the finding, who began to search the area indicated by the GPS.

Several minutes after the alarm was raised, the woman was located by a 118 helicopter carrying an Alpine Rescue helicopter rescuer who, lowering himself with a winch, reached her and brought the team that was carrying out the search from the ground to the scene.
After reassuring the tourist, the rescuers put her in a harness and hoisted her onto the helicopter which then took her to the Casamicciola heliport where she was picked up by a 118 ambulance and taken to the nearby Rizzoli hospital for the necessary medical checks where the doctors confirmed that the woman did not suffer any consequences from the fall.
