From September 15 to 17, three events, open to all, will liven up the evenings of Conca dei Marini, the village nestled in the hills of the Lattari Mountains between Amalfi and Positano and which extends to Capo di Conca with terraces overlooking the sea.

The protagonist of the festival, which intends to promote the meeting between arts and territories to promote their value and care, will be one of the most evocative places in Conca dei Marini: the Open Air Theatre, located near the Church of San Pancrazio, obtained from the natural slope of the land and which opens to scenarios and suggestions overlooking the sea. Frangenti Festival, a project curated by the cultural association Ablativo, confirms its multidisciplinary vocation with three sections dedicated to different forms of expression, from Italian singer-songwriters, to narrative theatre, to all-public shows with activities for children.

“Happy with the prospects that are opening up and the commonality of purpose – says artistic director Vincenzo Albano. The maritime history of Conca, without forgetting the peasant one, strongly recalls the metaphor that gives the festival its title, that of the breaking waves. And metaphors are powerful, they open doors to the imagination”.

Guest of the #live section – words and author's music, on September 15th at 21 pm, will be Giovanni Block, who will perform in a band with Masnada the songs from his latest album, Retrò, with references to the author's music of the 80s and the great poets of our literature, from Paoli to Dalla, from Gaber to Gaetano, from De Andrè to Guccini, quoting Quasimodo and singing Pavese.

Representing the #stories section – the theatre that tells, on Saturday 16 September again at 21 pm, Scena Verticale and the theatre of Saverio La Ruina, who with Dissonorata won, among others, two UBU awards, “Best Italian Actor” and “Best Italian Text”, and received a nomination as “Best Monologue Interpreter” at the ETI Award – Gli Olimpici del Teatro. Accompanying La Ruina, the music performed live by the multi-instrumentalist Gianfranco De Franco. Starting from the “small”, but emblematic story of a Calabrian woman, the show offers a starting point for a reflection on the condition of women in general. Multiple voices of women from the south resonate, of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, friends. From La Ruina's story emerges a Calabria that even when it comes to terms with tragedy, combines grotesque and surreal elements, sometimes even comical, always on the edge of a bitter irony.

Guest of the #kids section – shows and activities for children and families is Il Teatro nel Baule with the show Ufficio Parole Smarrite, by Simona Di Maio and Sebastiano Coticelli, with Carla Guardascione and Sebastiano Coticelli. The show will be held at 19.30:18 pm, but will be preceded at 6 pm by the workshop L'Ufficio Segreto, aimed at children aged 11 to XNUMX. An hour of play on some theatrical techniques, which will reveal to the young participants curiosities, behind the scenes and fun secrets about the art of theatre. A story that will have several interactive moments: the children themselves will fill the boxes with words that the actors use during the narration and at the end, as a gift, each child will donate an important word, never to be lost, to the ufficio parole smarrite.

Frangenti Festival is sponsored and promoted by the Municipality of Conca dei Marini: “The patronage of the municipal administration for the seventh edition of Frangenti Festival seals the recent meeting with Ablativo and its artistic director Vincenzo Albano”, says Mayor Pasquale Buonocore. “The ongoing collaboration, which we hope will also be of interest in the coming months, is for the Municipality of Conca a new opportunity for discussion on ideas, themes and programs to address to our community, to the most representative places in our territory and to the tourists who choose to visit them. These first three scheduled events will also represent a further opportunity to relaunch our open-air theater and bring it to the attention of an increasingly attentive public eager for events of this type".

The appointments are free admission, subject to availability. For information and contacts you can visit the website ablativo.it, write to info@ablativo.it or call +39 329 4022021.
