As the culmination of the long tour together that began in June 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, VENDITTI & DE GREGORI will perform in Italian sports halls from November: a GRAND FINALE that comes after over a year of concerts that have united thousands of fans, registering sold-out performances with over 250 thousand tickets sold. In addition to the dates already announced, the concert on November 18 at the PalaSele in Eboli is also available; tickets will be available for pre-sale from 16.00:13 pm today, Wednesday September XNUMX, on Ticketone.
A common and different story, that of VENDITTI & DE GREGORI, both capable of marking the songwriting and Italian music. After their debut with the album “Theorius Campus” (1972), their careers were divided until they arrived at this memorable tour that saw them travel together throughout Italy and that will now end in the sports halls, the last chance to see on the same stage the two artists who wrote the soundtrack of entire generations.
VENDITTI & DE GREGORI are the protagonists together on the same stage, with a single band that gives life to an extraordinary sound by uniting the musicians who have been collaborating separately with the two artists for years: Alessandro Canini (drums), Danilo Cherni (keyboards), Carlo Gaudiello (piano), Primiano Di Biase (hammond), Fabio Pignatelli (bass), Amedeo Bianchi (sax), Paolo Giovenchi (guitars), Alessandro Valle (pedal steel guitar and mandolin). Also on stage are Roberta Palmigiani on violin and the backing vocalists Laura Ugolini and Laura Marafioti. The musical coordination is by Guido Guglielminetti and Alessandro Canini.
The two artists give a new look to their greatest hits: songs that have entered people's hearts and stories, songs that are the soundtrack of entire generations.
VENDITTI & DE GREGORI have recently recorded and reinterpreted two great classics from their repertoire and from the history of Italian music, “Peppino” (https://VendittiDeGregori.lnk.to/Peppino) and “La Donna Cannone” (https://VendittiDeGregori.lnk.to/ladonnacannone), songs currently on the radio and available digitally. Published in 1983, La Donna Cannone is one of the most famous songs from De Gregori’s repertoire with an unmistakable melody, recognizable from the first notes, it is also the song that Venditti has always declared he loves and wanted to write. Similarly, “Peppino”, recorded by Antonello in 1986 after a trip to Eritrea, is one of the songs that most moved Francesco, while he was taking the measures to interpret it during the rehearsals for the tour. Also available on streaming platforms and for digital download are the songs “Generale” (https://smi.lnk.to/generale_) and “Ricordati di Me” (https://smi.lnk.to/ricordatidime), contained in an exclusive collector's 45 rpm record available for purchase on Amazon.
Two different, but similar personalities. Two artistic statures, each with its own poetics. VENDITTI & DE GREGORI began collaborating in their early twenties during a trip to Hungary and began writing their first songs together, leading to their joint recording debut with "Theorius Campus" where Antonello recorded "Roma Capoccia", an immediate huge success, and Francesco “Lady Aquilone”. A record that marked the beginning of their artistic journey for both of them.
The VENDITTI & DE GREGORI tour is organized and produced by Friends & Partners (for more information: www.friendsandpartners.it). Radio Italia solomusicaitaliana is the radio partner of the tour.
