The 99 Posse, for their part, rejected the accusations, claiming that they had brought the flags of Donetsk and Lugansk as a symbol of "resistance against the war".
The incident sparked a heated debate on social media, with comments divided between those who condemned the 99 Posse initiative and those who defended it.
Among the first, many users accused the rap group of supporting the regime of Vladimir Putin and of having offended the memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine.
Among the latter, some argued that the 99 Posse only wanted to convey a message of "anti-war resistance," while others emphasized that the flags of Donetsk and Lugansk are a symbol of "self-determination" for the people of those regions.
The story is destined to continue to be a topic of discussion, also in light of the fact that 99 Posse are a group with a large following in Italy.
