The Bastards of Pizzofalcone, preview of the fourth series: what will happen to Lojacono?
Inspector Lojacono, played by Alessandro Gassmann, is back and his suffering and bloody face has captured the attention of all fans of I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone. In the third season, Lojacono was left at the end of his life, but now we are eager to find out if he managed to survive and clear his tarnished name.
The fourth series, co-produced by Rai Fiction and Clemart and based on the novels by Maurizio de Giovanni, was previewed during the Prix Italia in Bari. During the preview, directors Monica Vullo and Riccardo Mosca offered some information on what to expect and on the new developments of the characters.
Lojacono was kidnapped, tortured and filled with drugs to make him an addict. But his determination and fighting spirit remained intact. This time, he will have his faithful Bastards by his side to fight a very dangerous battle.
But a great enemy lurks among them, making everything more difficult. It's up to Lojacono to reveal who the traitor is and protect his daughter's life. Assistant Chief Romano, played by Gennaro Silvestro, is also in a difficult situation. He's hit rock bottom: his wife has left him and their daughter has been put into foster care.
Now, she must try to get back on her feet and face her personal demons. She will have the support of the Bastards, but she will also seek help from other sources. Deputy Superintendent Ottavia Calabrese, played by Tosca D'Aquino, will also have an important role in the fourth series. Ottavia's character has evolved over the previous seasons: at the beginning she was a woman closed in her pain, but now she is more structured and ready to face new challenges.

Despite the information provided during the preview, the real goal is to leave the audience waiting to find out what will happen in the new season. The new four episodes will air on October 23 on Rai1 and we are sure that fans will be on the edge of their seats during each episode.
