The Bastards of Pizzofalcone, preview of the fourth series: what will happen to Lojacono?
Inspector Lojacono, played by Alessandro Gassmann, is back, and his pained, bloodied face has captured the attention of all fans of I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone. In season three, Lojacono was left for dead, but now we're eager to find out if he managed to survive and clear his tarnished name.
The fourth series, co-produced by Rai Fiction and Clemart and based on the novels by Maurizio de Giovanni, premiered at the Prix Italia in Bari. During the preview, directors Monica Vullo and Riccardo Mosca offered some insight into what to expect and the new character developments.

But a great enemy lurks among them, making everything more difficult. It's up to Lojacono to uncover the traitor and protect his daughter's life. Chief Deputy Romano, played by Gennaro Silvestro, is also in a difficult situation. He's hit rock bottom: his wife has left him, and their daughter has been placed in foster care.
Now, she must try to recover and face her personal demons. She'll have the support of the Bastards, but she'll also seek help from other sources. Deputy Superintendent Ottavia Calabrese, played by Tosca D'Aquino, will also have an important role in the fourth season. Ottavia's character has evolved over the previous seasons: initially, she was a woman closed off in her grief, but now she's more grounded and ready to face new challenges.
