Yesterday, the Carabinieri Forestali of Caserta executed an order for the application of a precautionary measure requiring the obligation to report to the PG, issued by the GIP of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, against a 68-year-old woman from Caserta, investigated for the crime of malicious forest fire.
Today's provision reflects the results of an investigative activity, coordinated by the magistrates of the IV Section of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, specialized in the environmental crime sector, which concerned a forest fire of vast proportions - over 10 hectares - which broke out on 21 August 2023 at the foot of the hillside called "Monticello" in the Centurano hamlet of the municipality of Caserta.

To tame the flames of the vast fire, the intervention of a Canadair sent by the National Civil Protection of Rome and a helicopter from the Campania Region were necessary, as well as fire-fighting teams from the Caserta Fire Brigade.
