He is the former senator Vincenzo D'Anna the new president of the National Federation of Orders of Biology. Already president of the dissolved ONB, D'Anna was appointed unanimously (15 votes out of 15) by the councilors of the Central Committee, the governing body of the FNOB, whose election, a few days ago, put an end to the "lightning" receivership of the professional representative body of Italian Biologists. Alberto Spanò was elected vice president; Diego Virgone treasurer; Marzia Bedoni secretary.
“It's time to make up for lost time and work to create harmony” the former parliamentarian commented, while the news was still hot, thanking “the colleagues who have chosen to give me their preference”. For D'Anna: “we need to continue to build on the good work we have done in the past, trying to focus more on the real needs of the category.”
What matters most, in fact, “is working to build a climate of industriousness, to achieve new legislative guarantees for Biologists heirs of the new science and knowledge that is developing in every diagnostic and research field; to live the time of collaboration with all health professionals and with those with good will and availability”.
In conclusion: “the time has come to turn the page and cooperate with those who are ready to favor the widespread interests of a young and innovative science, such as that professed by Italian biologists, placing them before their own personal ambitions”. In short, it is felt “the need for a professional inspiration that is still largely to be realized in terms of a conscious belonging to the family of Biologists” D'Anna concluded.
