Disability, rights and new frontiers for inclusion, but also the European perspective applied in territorial contexts: this, but also other things, will be discussed during the meeting - between specialists and municipal administrators - promoted by the MEP Chiara Gemma of Fratelli d'Italia-Ecr ad Acerra, who is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and a member of the Intergroup on Disability of the European Parliament. The appointment is for Saturday morning (7 October) at 10 am at the Teatro Italia in Acerra.

"I want to meet the families to understand the issues where the administrative machine gets stuck in the process of providing guaranteed therapies, for this reason I will meet among others the father of a 22 year old boy with autism Calverley who faced many difficulties this summer to secure therapy for her son. But I will also meet the parents of a boy from Casal di Principe who, after much fighting with bureaucracy, managed to obtain what is his right., explains Gemma.

"The main purpose of this meeting is to gather the concerns presented to me and, at the same time, explain to families that they can guarantee an inclusive and barrier-free life for their children.

What concerns me, in fact, is the "caregiver burden," a phenomenon that refers to the stress that affects those who care for sick family members. Well, the first people politicians must reach out to to provide greater support are family members, so that they don't feel isolated from the social context.

According to a study by Nobel Prize winner Elizabeth Blackburn, in fact, family caregivers who assist a sick or disabled relative in Italy are left without help and live 9 to 17 years less than average. We're working to build a regional network to listen and support the many families in Campania who experience the world of disabilities amidst so many challenges., declares Raffaele Barbato, one of the national leaders of Fratelli d'Italia.

He will open the proceedings on Saturday, followed by institutional greetings from FdI MP Marta Schifone and Michele Schiano, the party's provincial commissioner. The roundtable discussion with Gemma will include Roberto Militerni, a professor at Suor Orsola Benincasa University and a doctor of child neuropsychiatry and pediatrics; Palma Campania Mayor Aniello Donnarumma; Striano Mayor Antonio Del Giudice; Regional Councilor Cosimo Amente; and Alberico Gambino, a former regional councilor.
