The images of three kids spray-painting the facade of Santa Chiara, one of our city's iconic monuments, the other evening, without anyone else intervening, are truly heartbreaking.
Is it a desire to emulate the events in Rome, or is it simply ignorance? But those images are certainly further evidence of the profound cultural and civil degradation into which our community has fallen.
At the same time, they testify to the need to adopt an extraordinary plan for the surveillance of our artistic and monumental treasures, constantly violated and outraged by hooligans and uncivilized people.

This is not the first time that such a disgrace has happened. For this reason we have sent the images to the competent authorities. Many residents of the area, who frequent the gardens of the monumental complex, complain that for some time now the area has been turned upside down by groups of minors who set off illegal firecrackers, destroy everything they can, deface the walls, insult and harass tourists.
"The parents of the young hooligans cannot escape their responsibilities. They should be identified and ordered to compensate for the damage their children caused by paying for the facade's cleanup out of their own pockets. It's unfair that the entire community should pay the price for their parental incompetence." This is the complaint of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who received the video from some outraged residents.
