The mayor's salary donated to the canteen of kindergarten students: this is what the mayor of Forio, Stani Verde, has decided to do.
The decision was made public in recent days, during the last city council meeting, when Verde, a 45-year-old hotelier who has led the island municipality since May 16, announced that the approximately €40 in annual compensation he receives for his position will be used to provide canteen services for children attending his municipality's preschool, primary, and secondary schools.
