In Political Sciences the short films of Mediterranean South Filming.
With an award to the actor Nando Paone for “Il mare che muove le cose” by Lorenzo Marinelli, the program and winners of 'Mediterranean South Filming', an audiovisual contest produced by the Premio Penisola Sorrentina in agreement with the Campania University, media partnership Rai Cinema Channel, were presented at the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli.
The international initiative shines a spotlight on the Mediterranean and the South, exploring themes such as the economy of the sea, the landscape, the dialogue between civilizations, geopolitical balances, energy corridors, cultural sedimentations, immigration, sustainability, the expectations and hopes of new generations. The contest was created to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the poet Rocco Scotellaro.
The selections were entrusted to a technical jury, coordinated by the director of the Penisola Sorrentina Award Mario Esposito with subsequent voting by the students. Five finalist short films: “Bagno al largo” directed by Luigi Russo, the winner that will be distributed on the Rai Cinema Channel platform, “Il mare che muove le cose” by Lorenzo Marinelli; “Al di là del mare” by Massimo Ivan Falsetta; “Il ricordo del vuoto” by Nora Trebastoni; “La mia terra di nessuno” by Francesca Belli.
"Involving our students – stated the director of the Department Francesco Eriberto d'Ippolito – as members of the jury of such an important contest has constituted an important training experience on those themes that intersect culture and job opportunities”.
After the preview at the Department, the representatives of the Campania university will participate in the award ceremony at the Teatro Armida in Sorrento on October 27 (19.30:28 p.m.), as part of the XNUMXth edition of the Premio Penisola Sorrentina. The actress Giuliana De Sio will be the godmother of the event, accompanied by the maestro Gianluigi Esposito for a special tribute to Rocco Scotellaro, the mayor of Sorrento Massimo Coppola will present the actress with a lifetime achievement award.
