“Throwing Out All My Fear” is the new single of the band MATTIA CAROLI & THE FLOWERS OF EVIL, on the radio, in digital stores and on streaming platforms starting today, Friday 6 October.
“Throwing Out All My Fear” is a song that recalls early Porcupine Tree, early Pearl Jam; it ranges between arpeggios with post-punk sounds and typical grunge distortions, which envelop the entire piece. The sounds reflect a dark text in which memories, reminiscences and regrets are not intended as necessarily negative factors, but are felt as a source of growth, as an armor for our fears: “Everything you want is on the other side of fear” (Jack Canfield).
“After months in the studio, made of corrections and changes, finally here is the lead single of what will be our second album. We are happy that from this song emerges a profound change compared to the first two works (album, EP), in fact we turned our gaze towards an early nineties rock that winks at the Seattle scene, the so-called grunge; the ideas came to us listening to the sounds of the first Pearl Jam and Sound Garden”, declare Mattia Caroli & The Flowers of Evil
“Throwing Out All My Fear” is accompanied by a music video, directed by Mattia Caroli and Simone Morini, which retraces the story of a mysterious and confused man, haunted by his own fears. At the beginning, the protagonist wanders through the recesses of his unconscious and retraces, between lonely fields and dark places, the memories and fears that afflict him. After an initial escape - from what seems to be a supernatural entity in continuous transformation, but which then reveals itself to be his double - he finds the courage to face his own demons and emerges from each ordeal increasingly stronger, ultimately living this experience as a game with himself.
The song was co-produced by the band and Stefano Barone.
