The protesters headed towards the Vasto neighbourhood, behind the train station, an area densely populated by immigrants, before returning to the starting point and going around the square.
"People have the right to freedom. Free Palestine," read one banner. Many flags were waving: Palestine, Rifondazione, Potere al Popolo, and Cobas.
"There is no peace under occupation. Free Palestine." This was the banner in Piazza Garibaldi, Naples, where supporters of the Palestinian people gathered for an initiative supported by various groups, especially those from the opposing camp.

The concern of Imam Massimo Abdallah Cozzolino
"We are deeply concerned about the escalation of violence in the Middle East. We firmly and resolutely condemn the terrorist attack and aggression carried out by Hamas in Israel, but Israel's response is leading to yet another tragedy, adding victims to other victims."
Imam Massimo Abdallah Cozzolino, leader of the Zayd Ibn Thabit Islamic cultural association in Piazza Mercato and president of the Islamic Federation of Campania, told reporters.
"What happened," the imam explains, "has never happened before in Israel's history. More than a thousand victims is truly obscene and brutal. On the other hand, Israel's legitimate—and I stress legitimate—response in waging this sort of war against terrorism and terrorists is leading to another tragedy, adding to the already numerous victims in Israel, thousands of victims in Gaza and Palestine. These victims have no connection to terrorist organizations, innocent victims."
