The second, eagerly awaited edition of the Campania Libri Festival, a cultural event funded by the Campania Region and dedicated this year to Italo Calvino on the centenary of his birth, kicked off today, October 5th.
Organized in the evocative location of the Royal Palace in Naples by the Campania dei Festival Foundation, it is chaired by Alessandro Barbano and directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, as well as entrusted to the prestigious care of the philosopher and university professor Massimo Adinolfi.
The exhibition is divided into four thematic paths: Words, stories, silences; In the heart of the present; Across the sea and far away; Other frequencies. Each of these is identified with a different color: green, yellow, blue, red.
Judging by the packed and engaging program, as well as the interest already generated among the public in the days leading up to its opening, the 2023 Campania Libri Festival—which concludes on October 8th—prompts a repeat of the success achieved by the first edition, which drew more than thirty thousand attendees in four days.
Numerous events are planned, inspired by the slogan "It's time to soar." Over 200 presentations, meetings, debates, and workshops will promote culture in its many facets, including not only reading but also theater, music, film, and audiovisual media. Carlo Verdone will perform on Saturday, October 7th.

Major national publishing houses will also be present, occupying a specially designed space in the 17th-century courtyard of the enchanting venue. The historic rooms hosting the scheduled events will be named after the titles of Calvino's "American Lessons," which—as mentioned—inspired the entire event: Multiplicity, Lightness, Rapidity, Coherence, Visibility, Exactitude, Flame, and Crystal.
A rich and exciting review, with an international vocation for the many presences of world-famous artists in addition to national ones. An excellent calendar that has already sold out many of the scheduled highlights.
For those who did not have time to register to participate in their favorite event, the organization recommends going to the place anyway, as a limited number of places will be reserved for those who did not book.
