Naples, bus driver punched in the face by a passenger

Another bus driver was attacked in Napoli.

At that point a passenger on the bus urged the driver to “control his language” in an increasingly insistent manner until he attacked him.

It was the victim of the attack himself, Mr. Valerio, originally from Cinisello Balsamo, who told the story of the incident, after filing a complaint, to the deputy of the Green-Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli.

“I was on Via Marina before the Acton tunnel, I noticed that they cut me off while I was maneuvering. However, I was careful and alert in my maneuvers in a traffic in complete anarchy, in my frustration I let out a few words, dictated by anger. Even though they were directed outwards, a passenger on board verbally attacked me but I did not give in to provocations.

To get attention, he continues to rant against me, obviously I stop and tell him very politely that I am guaranteeing the race and so he slaps me in the face. In the fight I receive two punches in the face. I went to get treated in the hospital in Nola.”

“Full solidarity with the driver. We are surrounded by uncivilized, violent and barbaric people, people who have no respect for anything or anyone and who only know violence as a means of 'communication'. They are, if anything, the same ones who don't even pay for the ticket. We need frontal actions against these individuals. Given the continuous attacks on buses, perhaps the time has come to take countermeasures and to provide a video surveillance system on board” - declared Borrelli.
