The strength of Music against barbarism, review of the New Scarlatti Orchestra expressly promoted by the Ministry of Culture to remember the young Neapolitan musician Giovanbattista Cutolo, ends on Sunday 15 October 2023 at 20.00 pm at the Politeama theatre in Naples (Via Monte di Dio 80) with the Symphonic Concert of the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti conducted by Beatrice Venezi.
An appointment with great symphonic music, the one that Giogiò he always wanted to play.
Free admission, subject to availability.
The program includes the orchestral piece entitled Giogiò, an unreleased piece by Bruno Persico, a tribute to the versatile Neapolitan musician who has long collaborated with the Comunità delle Orchestre Scarlatti: a moving piece in which echoes of a Beethovenian theme, much loved by Giovanbattista, intertwine with Neapolitan accents; it will be followed by a Rendez-vouz de chasse by Rossini performed by five horns, a refined sound suggestion in honor of Giogiò's instrument; finally, Symphony no. 1 in C minor op. 68 by Johannes Brahms, a masterpiece of romantic symphonism, a powerful, intimate and passionate piece, full of singing and enthusiasm, capable of following Beethoven's path and going beyond. It is the great music that Giovanbattista would have wanted to play, this time entirely dedicated to him.
