A meticulously organized scam carried out by the 49-year-old Neapolitan who saw the Carabinieri of the Piedimonte Matese Company arrive at his home late this morning.
He was identified and reported at liberty for fraud, possession and manufacturing of false identification documents and receiving stolen goods.
Last September, the accused, responding to an advertisement published on a well-known web platform, after introducing himself with a false name, showed interest in purchasing a Rolex GMT Master 2 watch, offered by the advertiser at a price of 13.500,00.

The victim, having noticed the scam, immediately filed a complaint with the Carabinieri of the Piedimonte Matese Company, reporting, after a few days, that his precious watch had been put back on sale on a different online platform by a person who presented himself with a different name from its buyer.
The immediate investigations carried out by the territorially competent military personnel allowed the seller to be intercepted on 19 September in the municipality of Casavatore, in the province of Naples, and the Rolex to be recovered and seized, following a personal search. On this occasion, the 34-year-old arrested was reported for receiving stolen goods.
Unfortunately, however, the person in possession of the watch was not the one who had organized the scam, purchased and paid for with a check and false documents, as also confirmed by the victim.
The not easy identification of the fraudster, in fact, was only possible thanks to the meticulous investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Piedimonte Matese station who cross-referenced the data relating to the modus operandi used for the commission of the same type of crimes and those collected thanks to the identification photograph provided by the victim.
