The boy, who was on holiday in Italy, had descended from the Campo dei Galli area towards the valley when he lost the path, finding himself in an impervious area. He then fell, suffering some trauma.
A woman living in the area, who heard his cries for help, contacted the CNSAS and 118.
A Cnsas ground team intervened on site, followed by a team from the Guardia di Finanza Alpine Rescue. The 118 Operations Center in Salerno also arranged for the 118 helicopter rescue based in Pontecagnano Faiano to take off.
The helicopter, arriving on site, located the hiker with the help of ground teams. The technical-medical personnel on board the helicopter recovered the boy and transferred him to the hospital in Salerno for further tests.
The boy, who is conscious and in good general condition, was discharged from the hospital in the evening.
