The 'high impact' activity, which at dawn involved approximately 200 operators from various law enforcement agencies in the areas of Portici and San Giorgio a Cremano, ended with the reporting, on various counts, of several people and with sanctions against others for possession of narcotics for personal use.
Controlling the operations from above were helicopters from the State Police Flight Department and the Guardia di Finanza Air Section. In the complex, large quantities of narcotics (cocaine, hashish and marijuana) were seized, as well as large quantities of foreign manufactured tobacco, cash, bank checks, luxury watches and jewelry, and vehicles without insurance coverage.
During the activity, administrative checks were carried out to verify compliance with the Highway Code.
The joint activity saw the participation of personnel from the Naples Flying Squad, the Portici – Ercolano, San Giorgio a Cremano and Torre del Greco Police Stations, the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, the UOPI, the Highway Police, the Scientific Police, the Canine Unit, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Nucleus of the Torre Annunziata Group, the Operational and Radiomobile Section of the Torre del Greco Company.
And also the Guardia di Finanza with the ATPI component of the Pronto Impiego Napoli Group and the canine units, the Torre Annunziata Group, the Giugliano in Campania Group, the 1st Metropolitan Operational Nucleus of Naples as well as the Portici Company. The activity saw the participation of personnel from the Fire Brigade.
