Password: contamination. Of languages, methods, techniques, visions. Thus continues Ra.ID Festivals 2023, the interregional contemporary dance festival, created with the support of the Municipality of Solofra and the recognition of the MiC.
At Palazzo Ducale Orsini in Solofra, on Saturday 7 October at 20.30 pm Ra.ID hosts the Compagnia de L'Aquila, Gruppo Emotion, the only dance production company in Abruzzo financed by the MiC, in “Giru Giru”, a creative process directed and choreographed by Francesca La Cava on the original music by Alessandro Olla.

On stage a journey within the “journey” where the performers are continuously led to places proceeding slowly in the same direction. Through the knowledge of the memories of the different myths of the countries overlooking the sea, the dancers research and experiment with all the human phenomena in which culture is created and transformed, giving way to the proliferation of points of view and the multiplication of narrative bodies. On stage an “old dancer” represents time and transformation, and here, the dancers’ progress builds different spaces, rooms, creating different forms: procession, migration and manifestation.

On Sunday 8 October at 18 pm it will be the turn of Ersilia Danza, a company from Verona, in “Coppelia”, directed and choreographed by Laura Corradi. In contrast are the two female characters, Swanilda and Coppelia, played by Midori Watanabe and Carlotta Plebs. On one side the real woman, pervaded by emotions, blinded by jealousy, instinctive and impetuous, victim of every possible human fragility; on the other the mechanical doll, perfect, who can never lose control because she is a robot, beautiful and cold. One is Plebs, hot-blooded and emotional, capable of falling apart and then recovering in great laughter; the other is Watanabe, who by education and culture of origin (Japanese) is able to control every emotion as well as every muscle, with a face that seems unreal. The comparison between the two unfolds between real and ideal and the reflection would like to understand where to draw the boundary. First performed on 21 May 1870 at the Opéra National de Paris, the ballet was an enormous success: full of humour and adventure, Coppelia marks an important step forward in Romantic ballet, which abandons the rather dark world of villi and sylphs to delve into a realm never explored by Romantic tradition.
