Il Serra Theatre inaugurates the Season 2023 / 24 “Theatrical Caldera” with "It wasn't a goal", a daring story of football, love, friendship and faith lived at full speed, written and directed by Mauro Palumbo and interpreted by Peter Tammaro, Mario Cangiano e Joao santos.
Appointment from Friday 20 a Sunday, October 22 (timetables: Friday 21:00, Saturday 19:00, Sunday 18:00) in the cultural space of Fuorigrotta, in Via Diocleziano 316. For information: teatroserra@gmail.com, 347.8051793-320.3348355The play features two passionate fans of the Napoli who, after the defeat in the Champions League final, for a dubious goal at the last moment, decide to kidnap the referee. An extreme gesture, from which a hilarious succession of bizarre situations arises.
"The work deals with the theme of violence, beyond passion. The football topic is a pretext to talk about friendship, love, faith and human relationships, deformed by the context in which we live, which is full of anger. We live in a time of anger, which we no longer seem to be able to manage; from traffic to relationships, we are no longer able to express ourselves without violence, even verbal, and, in my opinion, a reflection on this topic is necessary. – says the director – Of course with a smile on your face; it's a comedy, the actors are splendid and the audience will have fun, but it's an entertainment that isn't obvious, it wants to raise questions to share".
Football, therefore, not as a mere instrument of revenge against life, but a metaphysical place in which to invoke a Justice absent elsewhere, to find ourselves less alone, to smile at ourselves and forgive each other, mistakes, shortcomings, missed opportunities, vanished illusions. Like a dubious goal at the final whistle.
