Naples, they steal lava stones from Vesuvius to decorate their home gardens

Vesuvius is being plundered day after day. This is what a citizen who contacted the Green-Left alliance deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli denounces.

According to the man, in fact, near the gorge of the volcano the future of lava stones would occur, obtained by splitting the ancient lava flows and the so-called "macere", dry stone walls built with the same technique as the ancient Greek walls.

The stolen stones were used to decorate the gardens of individual homes, as also indicated by the trails of stones taken away.

“We alerted the police about this incident, hoping that surveillance cameras are active in the area so that we can catch the predators,” commented Borrelli.

“In any case, we expect interventions and prevention, given that similar episodes have been recorded in the past.”
