MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli emphasized the need to dismantle the shantytown on the Maddalena Bridge and find better living solutions for those affected. He also emphasized the importance of finding adequate facilities, especially with winter approaching.
According to reports from some residents, a new shantytown is being built by homeless people on Via Ponte della Maddalena in Naples. This area has become a hub for waste accumulation and decay, endangering the health of those who live there.
Borrelli stated that he notified Social Services, the Municipal Police, and Asia to intervene and clear the area. He also highlighted the growing situation of homeless people and people in difficulty, emphasizing the urgency of finding solutions to this problem, especially with the arrival of winter and falling temperatures.

“We have notified Social Services, the Municipal Police and Asia to intervene to clear the area and clean it up. Those people cannot live among the waste with the risk of contracting diseases and we cannot allow so many places in the city to be transformed into open-air landfills.” - declares Borrelli - “The more time passes, the more the number of homeless people, people in difficulty and living out in the open increases and therefore it is urgent to find solutions to this problem by setting up new structures and offering more and more complete services to those in need. We must take action starting immediately with winter now beginning and temperatures continuing to drop.”
