At first light of day, the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Company are executing a precautionary order issued by the GIP of Naples, at the request of the Neapolitan District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against 41 people (35 in pre-trial detention in prison and 6 banned from residing in the Campania region), seriously suspected of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking. The investigations, conducted by the operational and radiomobile unit of Castello di Cisterna and coordinated by the DDA of Naples, have allowed us to document the operations of an association headed by the “Rega Piacente” clan, dedicated to drug trafficking and operating in the popular district of “219” of Brusciano. The organization of the drug dealing areas distributed in various levels of the district was reconstructed, each with a pyramidal hierarchical structure composed of a head of the area, dealers and lookouts, for each type of drug sold (marijuana, hashish, crack and cocaine). A flourishing activity, second only to the Caivano area. The organizational level of the “areas” was high, active even 24 hours a day, with pushers who were employed on work shifts of 8/10 hours a day. The shift change system was very rigid. During the investigations, the Carabinieri found that showing up late for the shift change could also lead to “dismissal”. Documented circumstance for one of the pushers, removed for being 30 minutes late.
Each “shop” was equipped with a precise quantity of drugs, provided by the boss from time to time to the pusher at the beginning of each shift, together with a transceiver. A fundamental tool to be immediately informed in case of any checks by the police. As with other criminal groups, the associates raised the alarm by shouting “Marco! Marco!”, allowing a quick escape when the military arrived. The investigations have shown how the drug dealing activity was pressing, to the point of changing the habits of the residents, outsiders to the clan. None of the residents of the buildings of 219 could have the keys to the entrance doors. Even the intercoms had been removed to prevent the remote opening of the doors without authorization. The sale of drugs also took place in the presence of children, with "devastating effects on the cultural formation and consciences". The investigation, among other things, allowed for the seizure of numerous narcotics, large sums of money from the illegal activity, as well as the arrest of approximately 30 people in flagrante delicto.
