Arrives for the first time at Napoli, at the Donnaregina Museum, 'The Adoration of the Magi' by Sandro Botticelli, a masterpiece from the Uffizi that will be exhibited during the upcoming holidays, from November 30 to January 31. The painting, which once belonged to the Medici family, originally came from the church of Santa Maria Novella, and can be dated around 1475.
The Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the director of the Diocesan Museum Monsignor Adolfo Russo, Prof. Pierluigi Leone de Castris curator of the exhibition together with Alessandro Cecchi director of the Casa Buonarroti Museum in Florence, Cecilia Frosinini of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, Daniela Parenti of the Uffizi Galleries and the Director of the Uffizi Galleries Eike Schmidt.
The exhibition at Donnaregina (which follows those dedicated to Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rubens and Brueghel, Pinturicchio, Aniello Falcone, Antonello da Messina and Artemisia Gentileschi) is made possible thanks to the support of the Campania Region in collaboration with the Madre Museum and with sponsors such as Gesac, Grimaldi Line, Fondazione Banco di Napoli and Dual Assicurazioni. Also on display is a section curated by Olga Scotto di Vettimo dedicated to the works of contemporary artist Armando De Stefano from the pictorial cycle Chamaleons.
