Operation by the military of the Carabinieri Forestale Nucleus of Sessa Aurunca (CE), who, during a patrol service aimed at combating poaching and checking hunting practices, in the locality of “Pantano”, a hamlet Domitian Bay, of the municipality of Cellole (province of Caserta), alerted by a loud persistent sound reproducing the call of the Song Thrush and by gunshots coming from within the surrounding vegetation, they identified, inside a hedge, two individuals engaged in illegal hunting activities.
In fact, the two people were illegally gaining an advantage in the hunting action with an electromagnetic acoustic call reproducing the call of the migratory birds to be killed: "Song Thrush" which, in this period of the year, migrates from the breeding and nesting sites to the wintering sites, crossing our territory.
The aforementioned military personnel proceeded with the judicial seizure of the 12-gauge shotguns in their possession, six 12-gauge cartridges and an electro-acoustic decoy, reporting the aforementioned individuals at liberty for the crime of hunting with the aid of prohibited decoys, as provided for by the Regulations for the protection of warm-blooded wildlife and for hunting.
Acoustic calls with electromagnetic operation which are prohibited precisely because of their high capacity to deceive avifauna as they spread the calls of their fellow birds at a considerable distance, inducing them to approach near the sound source where they are easily killed.
