The Campania region's civil protection has extended the current weather alert for rain and strong thunderstorms until 12:4 tomorrow, Saturday XNUMX November, throughout Campania.
In particular, until 21 pm today, Friday 3 November, the alert is Orange on zones 1, 2,3, XNUMX (Campania Plain, Naples, Islands, Vesuvian Area, Alto Volturno and Matese, Sorrento-Amalfi Coast, Monti di Sarno and Monti Picentini) and Yellow on other areas of Campania.
From 21pm today until 12pm tomorrow, the entire regional territory will be moved to the Yellow level. The storms, even of strong intensity, will give rise to a hydrogeological risk, even widespread, with possible landslides, slope instability, rapid mudslides, falling rocks, floods, overflows, rising water levels of watercourses with flooding of the surrounding areas, surface flow of rainwater in the streets and involvement of depressed urban areas.
The Civil Protection of the Campania Region calls on the mayors to pay maximum attention. They are reminded to keep the Municipal Operations Centers active, to implement all the rules provided for by the Civil Protection plans and to adopt the necessary measures to mitigate the risk and secure the territory and protect citizens.
The competent authorities are also invited to check the correct maintenance of public green areas, as well as structures exposed to the stress of winds and wave motion, considering that today there is also an alert for very strong winds. Pay attention to subsequent warnings issued by the Regional Operations Room.
