It happens in Casoria, where a cycle path ends against… a wall.
The architectural “novelty” is explained: that the road where the passage was planned was private, was in the full knowledge of the municipal administration and the technical office but, despite everything, they continued with the construction of the track.
The bike lane in question is only a few meters long, but it has attracted the attention of many. Including some Internet users, who with a nice photomontage remembered one of the thousand stratagems of Wile E. Coyote, the historic cartoon character, to capture the roadrunner Road Runner: painting a non-existent tunnel on the wall of a non-existent road.

But the municipality (wanting to be naive), despite having ascertained that the crossing area is in fact a private area and not being able to prevail over the legitimate objections of the owners, has nevertheless continued with the construction of the work.
But taking a tour, even the remaining route appears incongruous with respect to the shape of the sidewalks and the roads involved which have in fact become a mix of vehicular and bicycle traffic which also puts the safety of courageous bikers at risk.
The image of a new bike path that ends against a wall, beyond which there is a project to revitalize an area, the construction of the bike path has had a significant impact not only from a landscape point of view but also from a traffic point of view. Today, however, everything is at a standstill: even the bike path has stopped against the wall.
In short, with the elections just around the corner, the bad publicity created by the construction of this real eyesore will certainly affect the future choices of residents and citizens of Casoria who find themselves having to deal with the usual games of local politics that, between push and pull, accusations, hybrid alliances, uncomfortable candidacies and promises, witnesses the decay of the city, especially in its suburbs.
