La Corte d’Appello di Napoli ha emesso una sentenza di assoluzione per Mario Martinelli, accusato di una rapina ai danni di una donna ultranovantenne in via Amato a Castellammare on July 16, 2020.
The Court acquitted him, holding that he had not committed the crime. The Court fully accepted the defense arguments regarding the unreliability of the accusations made by Amendola during the trial.
Martinelli's defense, represented by criminal lawyer Olga Coda, completely dismantled the charges, demonstrating that the entire prosecution case against Martinelli was a farce orchestrated by the co-conspirator, Amendola. Olga Coda's strenuous determination led to an acquittal from an initial sentence of almost 9 years in prison for Martinelli.
Mario Martinelli is known for his involvement in the robbery at the B&B “Villa Aurelia” in Pompeii, in which he was involved together with other accomplices, including Antonio Amendola. It was Amendola who implicated Martinelli, accusing him of being the mastermind of a robbery perpetrated against a woman over ninety in via Amato on July 16, 2020.
Along with him, Amendola had also indicated Alessandro Verde as another participant in the robbery, with the latter already acquitted in the first degree. Martinelli, however, had been sentenced to 8 years and 4 months in an abbreviated trial by the Gup of Torre Annunziata, who had not believed his version of the facts.
The GUP had considered that Amendola had accused Martinelli only to obtain personal benefits, such as release from prison and more lenient treatment.
