He was caught while walking, together with another person who managed to get away, along a street in the center of Castellammare di Stabia pushing a stolen scooter.
But at the sight of the officers he attempted to escape and then having a fight with the police. However he was stopped and arrested. So an 18 year old must answer for resisting a Public Official, aggravated personal injury as well as reported for receiving stolen goods.
It all started last afternoon, when a person showed up at the Castellammare di Stabia Police Station to report that his motorcycle had been stolen the previous day; the police, having received the complaint, set up a search service for the vehicle.
The activity had a positive response when the police officers, passing along Corso Alcide De Gasperi, noticed a man riding a scooter who, with his foot, was pushing the motorbike which was the subject of the complaint with another person on the saddle.
The two, at the sight of the officers, accelerated their march in an attempt to escape. A chase ensued where the fugitives, having reached via Mele, first threw their scooters to the ground in an attempt to hinder the police and then fled on foot until the officers, in via Napoli, managed to reach one of the two and stop him after a fight, while the other managed to escape.
An 18-year-old from Castellammare di Stabia was arrested for resisting a public official, aggravated personal injury and reported for receiving stolen goods; finally, the motorcycle used to commit the crime was seized, while the stolen scooter was returned to its rightful owner.
