“The Italian Cup too football remains outside of Rai. It is a real pincer maneuver that is underway on the public service company. On the one hand it is impoverished by cutting the license fee (the compensations coming from general taxation do not change the substance of the question), on the other it is drying up editorially, depriving it of content. Sport risks disappearing from Rai channels”. This is underlined in a note signed by the Cdr of Rai Sport and the Milan trustee.
“Football is now a fact, apart from the national team and Serie C. After losing the Serie A and the Champions League, the Italian Cup – recalls the Rai Sport editorial board – is once again out of the Viale Mazzini schedules. For the three-year period 2024-2027 it will once again be an exclusive to Mediaset, together with the rights to the Super Cup”.
"The Cologno Monzese group takes home the package by offering practically triple (56 million against 20). A defeat that was announced and worries the entire RaiSport editorial team. Ours is a cry of alarm addressed to the government and Parliament, institutions that hold the fate of the public service Rai in their hands".
