A woman originally from Salerno is yet another victim of the road. The fatal accident occurred during the night between Monday and Tuesday along the Strada Statale 66, near Dosso, in the province of Ferrara
The victim's name is Erica Maratea and she was 36 years old. The car in which the woman was aboard, with a 28-year-old of Ukrainian origins at the wheel, ended up off the roadway, for reasons that are still unclear, perhaps the asphalt made slippery by the rain.
The car ended up violently crashing into a concrete wall.
The 118 paramedics intervened on the spot but for the 39-year-old, who was sitting in the passenger seat, there was nothing that could be done, she died instantly. The 28-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital in Bologna.
The fire brigade and the Carabinieri also arrived at the scene of the accident and are investigating to reconstruct what happened.
